The Medical People are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading private provider of ophthalmology services delivering exceptional patient care, outstanding clinical outcomes, and continuous investment in people and technology.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist to provide care to patients from the Edinburgh Haymarket Surgery Centre. Candidates must be at least 2 years GOC-qualified, with Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification preferred. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside experienced eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, playing a crucial role in delivering a wide range of clinical eye care services.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre- and post-operative consultations for refractive and cataract surgery patients
• Providing clinical support to ophthalmologists during refractive surgery
• Participating in a multi-disciplinary YAG capsulotomy service and delivering procedures
• Conducting Essential and Advanced Eye Examinations
• Communicating with and treating patients via telemedicine
• Providing clinical support to the hub administrative team where required
• Reviewing incoming referrals from optometrists, GPs, and other primary care routes, allocating them to the most appropriate ophthalmology clinic
