The Medical People are recruiting on behalf of our client.

Our client is a leading private provider of eye care, delivering exceptional patient care, outstanding clinical outcomes, and continuous investment in people and technology.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Optometrist to provide care to patients at the Glasgow City Centre Flagship Clinic. Applicants must have at least 2 years’ registration with the GOC and ideally hold the Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside experienced eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, playing a key role in delivering a wide range of clinical eye care services.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will be varied and may include:

  • Pre- and post-operative consultations for refractive and cataract surgery patients
  • Providing clinical support to ophthalmologists during refractive surgery
  • Participating in the multi-disciplinary YAG capsulotomy service, delivering procedures
  • Conducting Essential and Advanced Eye Examinations
  • Communicating with and treating patients via telemedicine
  • Supporting the hub administrative team where required
  • Reviewing incoming referrals from optometrists, GPs, and other primary care routes, and allocating them to the appropriate ophthalmology clinic
